Saint George, a Christian knight, saves a city terrorized by a dragon to which the inhabitants were forced to offer human sacrifices, including the king’s daughter. Armed with his faith and his lance, he fights and subdues the beast, then offers to kill it if the people agree to convert to Christianity. The dragon is slain, and the legend stands as a symbol of courage, the triumph of good over evil, and the victory of faith.
