The front depicts members of the Gaoshan ethnic groups, recognized as one of China's 56 official nationalities, primarily inhabit Taiwan and are composed of various indigenous subgroups, each with their own language and culture, such as the Amis, Atayal , and Bunun. Rich in oral traditions, music, dances, crafts and specific festivals, these groups mainly belong to the Austronesian language family. Although facing challenges like cultural assimilation and land loss, efforts are being made to revitalize their languages and preserve their culture. The Gaoshan, representing approximately 2% of Taiwan's population, are essential to the cultural heritage of Taiwan and China.
