The red-tailed bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) is a common bumblebee species in Europe, easily identified by its black body and the bright orange tip of its abdomen. It typically inhabits meadows, gardens, forest edges, and rocky areas, often nesting underground, such as in abandoned burrows. An excellent pollinator, it feeds on nectar and collects pollen from various plants, including clovers and brambles, playing a vital role in pollination. Although widespread, it is vulnerable to habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change.
