The front represents the portrait of Marco Aurelio Soto, president of Honduras from 1876 to 1883, is recognized for his liberal reforms which modernized the country. He introduced important legal reforms with a new civil code and carried out infrastructure projects, improving national connectivity. The reverse side shows the former Presidential House of Honduras, called the Palacete Presidencial, was the official residence of presidents from 1922 to 1994. Built between 1916 and 1922, it combines European Classical Victorian and Gothic architectural styles. With a height of 17 meters and an area of 400 square meters, the Palacete Presidencial is now the headquarters of the Center for Documentation and Historical Research of Honduras (CDIHH), playing an essential role in the preservation of national history.
