The front depicts the Chollima Statue in Pyongyang, erected in 1961, is an iconic monument representing a mythical winged horse, a symbol of speed and determination, intended to embody the spirit of the Chollima campaign launched by Kim Il-sung to stimulate reconstruction and rapid economic development after the Korean War. Measuring about 46 meters high, the statue shows a worker and a peasant woman on horseback, illustrating the collective strength and rapid mobilization of the North Korean people. Located on Mansu Hill, it symbolizes nationalism and the ideal of the new socialist man, and remains a powerful propaganda tool of the regime, as well as par value both sides.
