Saint Louis and Zélie Martin, canonized in 2015, are models of marital holiness in the Catholic Church. Married in 1858, they led a family life centered on faith, prayer, and charity, raising nine children, five of whom survived and all became religious, including Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Louis, a watchmaker, and Zélie, a lace-making entrepreneur, had initially considered religious life before dedicating themselves to their family vocation. After Zélie's death in 1877, Louis continued raising their children with deep piety. Their canonization highlights the call to holiness in everyday family and marital life, celebrated on July 12.
