Walibi Belgium, opened in 1975, is an amusement park in Wavre, Belgium, created by entrepreneur Eddy Meeùs. Named after the nearby municipalities of Wavre, Limal, and Bierges, the park's mascot is an orange kangaroo named Walibi. Over the years, it changed ownership several times, being acquired by American company Six Flags in 1997, rebranded as Six Flags Belgium in 2001, and later sold to Palamon Capital Partners in 2004, which restored its original name. In 2006, it was bought by French group Compagnie des Alpes. Known for its ties to Belgian comics, the park once featured characters from The Adventures of Tintin and later included other comic figures like Lucky Luke and Boule et Bill. Walibi Belgium, a seasonal park, is divided into themed zones and offers over 40 attractions, targeting families with various thrill levels.
