10 Hryvnia of Ukraine 2021 UNC - Airborne Force

This coin celebrates the airborne force – a certain type of troops that belong to the immediate response forces of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. This force is characterized by its high maneuverability and autonomy of action, which are required for rapid deployment to conduct offensive and assault operations, provide cover for other troops, attack the enemy from the air, and fight in the enemy’s rear.

Reverse: above is the semicircular legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine); under the legend are Ukraine`s small coat of arms (to the left) and the shoulder patch of the airborne force of Ukraine’s Armed Forces (to the right); in the center, against a smooth background, is the emblem of the airborne force of Ukraine’s Armed Forces; to the left of the emblem are the face value 10 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; to the right of the emblem is the coin’s issue year – 2021; beneath is the semicircular legend ДЕСАНТНО-ШТУРМОВІ ВІЙСЬКА ЗСУ (the airborne force of Ukraine’s Armed Forces); under the coin issue year is the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.

Obverse: against a smooth background is a symbolic image of a paratrooper wearing a knight’s amour; the paratrooper has half-unfolded wings behind his back, which are a symbol of the patron saint of the army – Archangel Michael.
