1,5 Euro of Lithuania 2019 UNC - Smelt Fishing

Both sides of the coin depict smelt fishing by attracting: wooden mallets rhythmically strike the end of a board placed in a man-made hole in the ice and create vibrations that attract the fish; the vibrations make them turn in circles and ultimately get entangled in the nets. The obverse of the coin portrays the view from below the ice and fish caught in the nets. It features the inscription STINTŲ ŽVEJYBA VILIOJANT (Smelt Fishing by Attracting) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint.
