The reverse side of the commemorative coin, designed by sculptor Pertti Mäkinen, depicts a dove of peace controlling a postal boat, and the obverse side is decorated with a pine tree related to the archipelago view. The designer says that he has chosen the subjects to complement each other: both boating and nature are essentially part of archipelago life. He placed the dove of peace on the rudder as a leader - to guide action in all fields of life.
