The Théâtre Antique d'Orange, also known as the Théâtre Antique d'Arausio, is a Roman archaeological site located in Orange, France. Constructed in the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Augustus, it is one of the best-preserved Roman ancient theaters. The theater features an impressive architectural design with a facade adorned with sculptures and semi-circular seating that could accommodate approximately 9,000 spectators. It is still in use for theatrical performances, concerts, and festivals, including the Orange Chorégies. In 1981, it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its exceptional historical and architectural significance. It is a major tourist attraction in France, drawing visitors from around the world.
