The Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans is a historic site located in Arc-et-Senans, in the Doubs department of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in France. Built in the 18th century for salt production, it is an exceptional example of neoclassical architecture designed by the architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1982. Today, the saltworks is a museum and cultural venue, hosting exhibitions and events. It is a significant tourist attraction that bears witness to the industrial and architectural history of France in the 18th century.
