The Millau Viaduct is a highway bridge located in France, renowned for being one of the tallest in the world. It spans the Tarn Valley in the Aveyron region. Designed by the British architect Sir Norman Foster and the French engineer Michel Virlogeux, it is characterized by its slender pillars. Construction began in 2001 and was completed in 2004. It is part of the A75 highway, significantly improving the road connectivity of the region. The viaduct has broken several world records and has become a major tourist attraction, boosting tourism and economic development in Aveyron.
