The Templar Chapel in Laon is a historic monument located in the city of Laon, France. Established by the Templars in 1128 with the support of Barthélemy de Jur and the approval of Pope Honorius II, it later came under the control of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem after the dissolution of the Templar Order in 1312. The chapel, with its octagonal shape, was built around 1140 and is a replica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. It served as a funerary chapel and houses the tombstone of Guillaume de Harcigny, the physician to King Charles VI of France, and other important burials. During the French Revolution, the buildings were used as a prison. The chapel is currently part of the Laon Museum and is an important historical site, bearing witness to medieval history in France.
