2 Dollar of Canada 2023 UNC - Canadian Indigenous Peoples Day

Canadian Indigenous Peoples Day, celebrated on June 21st, honors the unique cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Formerly known as National Aboriginal Day, the name was changed in 2017 to better reflect the diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada. It's a day to recognize and celebrate the rich heritage and ongoing resilience of Indigenous communities across the country. Various events and activities take place nationwide, including cultural performances, traditional ceremonies, educational workshops, and discussions on Indigenous issues. It's an important opportunity for Canadians to learn about and reflect on the experiences of Indigenous peoples and to commit to reconciliation and building stronger relationships with Indigenous communities.
