Obverse : On the front of the banknote, there is a presentation of the Traveler's Tree, also known by its scientific name Ravenala madagascariensis, is an iconic plant of Madagascar. Despite its name, it is not actually a tree but rather a giant herbaceous plant belonging to the Strelitziaceae family. Tsingy is a term that refers to a unique geological formation found in Madagascar, an island country off the southeastern coast of Africa. The word "tsingy" comes from the Malagasy language, which means "where one cannot walk barefoot."
