Reverse : Pachypodium baronii, also known as the Madagascar palm or bontaka, is a flowering plant endemic to Madagascar. It is characterized by a stout, bottle-shaped trunk topped with cylindrical branches. This species thrives in open deciduous forests, primarily on calcareous rock and granite or gneiss substrates on the western side of the island at low elevations. Locally referred to as "Bontaka," it is found from Befandriana Nord to Mandritsara. First described by Constantin and Bois in 1907, it garners attention from botanists and plant enthusiasts due to its distinctive appearance and endemic status.
