The Téléthon is an annual charitable event held in several countries, mainly in Europe, to raise funds for medical research and the treatment of rare genetic diseases. It was established in France in 1987 by the French Association against Myopathies (AFM) to support research into neuromuscular diseases. The funds raised through the Téléthon are used for medical research, treatment development, patient support, and public awareness of rare genetic diseases. This event has become very popular and mobilizes thousands of volunteers, celebrities, and citizens each year to support this important cause.
