Ali la Pointe, born Ali Ammar on May 14, 1930, in Miliana, and died on October 8, 1957, in the Casbah of Algiers, was an Algerian fighter for the FLN during the Algerian War. He is primarily known for his involvement in the Battle of Algiers alongside figures such as Hassiba Ben Bouali, Zohra Drif, Petit Omar, and Yacef Saâdi, leader of the Autonomous Zone of Algiers. This battle marked a crucial moment in the conflict, characterized by intense clashes between FLN fighters and French forces, utilizing urban guerrilla tactics. Their commitment was pivotal in the struggle for Algeria's independence, although it came with tragic losses for the FLN members.
