The Château de Tarascon, also known as the Château du Roi René, is a medieval castle located in Tarascon, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. It was built in the 15th century under the orders of King René I of Anjou. The castle is distinguished by its imposing medieval architecture, featuring towers, moats, battlements, and machicolations. It played a significant historical role as both a royal and military residence and, at times, a prison. Today, it is open to the public as a museum, housing art collections and providing panoramic views of the town. The castle also hosts festivals and cultural events.
