The Arles Amphitheatre, also known as the Arles Arena, is an ancient Roman amphitheater located in Arles, France. Built in the 1st century AD, it is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world, capable of accommodating approximately 20,000 spectators. These arenas were used for gladiator games, animal fights, sports competitions, and other public events in Roman times. The exterior architecture is impressive, with two levels of arches, while the interior consists of ring-shaped seating. The Arles Amphitheatre has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981. Today, it is a major tourist attraction and hosts various events, including bullfights and concerts, while also serving as a reminder of the historical significance of the city of Arles in the Roman Empire.
