Collonges-la-Rouge is a French commune located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in the department of Corrèze. What makes this commune unique is its distinctive red sandstone architecture, hence its name "la Rouge" (the Red). A significant portion of the commune has been classified as a historical monument due to its exceptional architectural heritage, and another part is listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. The residents of Collonges-la-Rouge are known as Collongeois for men and Collongeoises for women. The commune is situated 19 kilometers southeast of Brive-la-Gaillarde, on a limestone plateau, facing the Quercy region. It is located in the Causse corrézien, at the northern extremity of the Causse de Martel. This makes it a popular tourist destination known for its picturesque architecture and rich history.
