The Museum of Early Aviation, established in September 1989 in Douzy, Ardennes, focuses on the early days of aviation and highlights the significant contribution of Roger Sommer, the first Frenchman to break the world record for the longest flight, which was originally held by the Wright brothers. The "Friends of Early Aviation" association played a pivotal role in the reconstruction of a 1910 biplane, a central exhibit in the museum. Since its inception, the museum has undergone three renovations, with the most recent one in 2010 to commemorate the centenary of Roger Sommer's record, involving professionals from the MDA2 entertainment company. Despite limited resources, the museum constantly strives to update its exhibits to delight visitors and meet their evolving expectations, providing a fascinating glimpse into the history of aviation.
