Argentinosaurus huinculensis is a giant sauropod dinosaur of the Titanosauria group, discovered in Argentina in 1989 by paleontologist Guillermo Heredia. It is one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered, living in the Late Cretaceous period approximately 96.2 to 92.19 million years ago. Although the remains found are limited to a few bones, estimates suggest it measured around 35 meters in length and weighed approximately 80 tonnes. Its generic name, "Argentinosaurus," refers to Argentina, its country of discovery, while its specific name, "huinculensis," refers to Plaza Huincul, where the fossils were found.
