The Abbey of Mont-Saint-Éloi, founded by Saint Vindicien, was a significant religious and cultural center. Home to regular canons following the rule of Saint Augustine, it was renowned for its literary activity. Reconstructed in the 18th century, its church was sadly demolished in the early 19th century and suffered damage during World War I. The remaining towers bear witness to its tumultuous past, making it a historically significant site of cultural and religious interest.
