Chambord Castle is a castle located in Chambord, France, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, approximately 17 km from Blois. It is the largest of the Loire castles and is surrounded by an immense enclosed forest park. The castle was constructed in the 16th century under the supervision of King François I and is famous for its unique architecture, including its double helix staircase designed by Leonardo da Vinci. The site has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 and is classified within the natural region of the Loire Valley. It is currently managed as a public establishment of an industrial and commercial nature (EPIC) since 2005. Chambord Castle is a cultural treasure of France and attracts visitors from all over the world.
